A form of gymnastics performed without props or equipment. Also referred to as floor gymnastics, common moves performed in tumbling include flips, somersaults, tucks, handstands and handsprings. In our tumbling class we do also use the beam to help with the balance. Tumbling is for younger ages to get them ready for gymnastics.
Requirements for Tumbling: No experience needed
A sport that includes exercises requiring balance, strength, flexibility, agility, coordination, and endurance. Gymnastics which consists of (for girls and boys) the events floor (tumbling), vault, uneven bars and beam.
Requirements for Gymnastics:
Beginning: No experience but tumbling preferred
Intermediate: Cartwheel and push up into a bridge
Advanced: Backbend from standing, cartwheel, and a handstand
