PowerUP/Introductory chess program
The PowerUp Chess Program is a FUN 6-week introductory After-School Chess Program
designed to help students learn the FUNdamentals of chess including basic piece movement, checkmating patterns, and other foundational principles of the game in a dynamic and engaging environment. Some of the documented benefits of chess instruction are improved critical thinking skills, increased math and verbal test scores, and a myriad of varied life skills. This program is a perfect fit for any student who wants to PowerUp their mind while having FUN and learning the basics of chess!
What is included with your registration:
● Premium 1-hr weekly chess instruction from a trained PowerChess instructor

Tournament/Intermediate Chess Program
In the Tournament Chess Program, students can expect to play in a weekly chess tournament and learn new tactical patterns that will enhance their knowledge of chess and game strategy. This program is perfect for students who have a firm understanding of the principles taught in the PowerUP program and are ready to play in weekly tournament games. NEW material taught every 6 weeks checkmating patterns, tactical problem solving, opening, middle, and endgame ideas. Repeat the course as desired to attain chess mastery.
