GIRL’S FAST PITCH SOFTBALL-RECREATION

  • Registration:  January 1 – April 19
  • Late Registration:  April 20 – until teams are full
  • Play Begins: June 2, 2020
  • Fee: $52 ($5 late registration fee) 
  • Non-Resident Fee: $62 ($5 late registration fee)
  • Grades: 3-9

The season begins the week of June 1 and post-season tournaments will end around the middle to end of July. Games are played at the Orem Elementary Softball fields. The fee includes a team t-shirt. Bats and balls are provided but each participant needs to have a softball glove AND a batting helmet with facemask. Hats and softball cleats are optional (no metal cleats allowed).  Late registration (limited availability) will begin April 20, and there will be a $5 late fee in addition to the registration fee. There will be three grade divisions; 3rd & 4th, 5th & 6th, and 7th – 9th grades. Girls will sign up in the grade that they are in during the 19/20 (current) school year. Games will be played on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, from 4:30 PM to 10:30 PM. The season begins tentatively May 12, 2020 and will end around the last week of July. Players

  • Coach reads lineup to scorekeeper
  • Provide own water, hand sanitizer, masks (not required), etc.
  • Warm up on grass away from main playing area
  • No high fives at end of game or during the game
  • Spread out – players in the dugout, islands, stands, behind the backstop
  • Enter dugout/team area after previous team has left and exit field immediately after game
  • Encourage high-risk players and those with symptoms to stay home
  • Discourage sunflower seeds at park

Fans

  • Discourage fans from coming to games
  • Discourage sunflower seeds at park
  • Encouraged to bring own chairs (bleachers are for teams)
  • Encourage physical distancing (signs will be used for reminders) – along the baselines and behind outfield fence
  • Wearing masks recommended
  • Provide own water, hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, etc.

Parents

  • Proactively monitor their own and everyone in their household’s health status. If anyone is not feeling well or has a temperature exceeding 100.4, they should reconsider attending the event.
  • Parents should consider limiting the number of family members who attend an event.
  • Responsible for water/sports drinks for their athletes in bottled format and making sure they are clearly marked/identified.
  • Maintain 6 feet social distancing measures when entering games, during games, and leaving the venue
  • Recommended that all parents bring sanitizing wipes, sanitizer, and face masks
  • Discourage sunflower seeds at park

How Teams Are Formed

GIRLS FAST PITCH SOFTBALL – ACCELERATED (SPRING LEAGUE)

  • Leagues: 10U, 12U, 14U, 16/18U

  • Fee: $600/per team
