In the past year . . .

An Annual Membership to the best Senior Center in Utah is only $11.00 per year! Memberships expire on December 31st of each year. Anyone reaching the Golden Age of 80 is considered a Golden Member and never pays dues again. Membership at the Orem Senior Friendship Center is open to all men and women 55 years of age and older without restriction as to race, religion, creed, sex, national origin, political belief, or income.
Lunches served at the Orem Senior Friendship Center are subsidized by Mountainland Association of Governments and the State of Utah for seniors who are 60 years of age and older. The suggested donation is $3.00 for 60+ seniors and the mandatory cost is $6.00 for 59 and younger. Food is cooked at the Utah County Security Center. Luncheon reservations are required at least one business day before 12 noon. Call 801-229-7111 to order your lunches.

Meals on Wheels – Mountainland Association of Governments can provide a hot, nutritious meal to those seniors who are homebound. Call 801-229-3802 to see if you or a loved one can be placed on the delivery list.

Curb-side Transportation for the Disabled – Individuals who are not able to use the UTA service due to age, physical, mental, or visual disabilities may qualify for curb-side transportation service. Transportation is scheduled on a first-come first-served basis. The service runs from approximately 7 AM to 11 PM. If you desire further information, please call 801-374-9306 for an application.
The Orem Senior Friendship Center Gift Shop is open Tuesdays and Fridays from 10:30AM to 12:00 noon. Come see the ever changing variety of cute and useful items all for only $.25.
HEAT Program – A representative from Community Action is available to answer questions on H.E.A.T. on specifically scheduled days in the month of October. Check the October Newsletter for HEAT dates and call the Senior Center office at 801-229-7111 to schedule your appointment. You may always call Mountainland Aging Agency at 801-229-3800 for appointments at their office.



BINGO is played every Tuesday and Thursday after lunch at 12:45 PM. This is SERIOUS STUFF and there are usually more than 100 people here! Come and try your luck in this fun activity and maybe even win a great prize. You can’t win if you’re not here!!
Income Tax Preparation – AARP provides help for seniors in preparing annual income tax forms. This services is offered February through March on Mondays. You will be able to call 801-229-7111 and schedule your appointment beginning Mid January.
Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar clinics are offered every Friday from 10:30-Noon. Patrons can have their blood sugar and blood pressure checked by a medical personnel from one of our local Home Health and Hospice agencies or Skilled Nursing Facilities.
Trips and Tours – For information on trips and tours, please check the current newsletter or stop by the Orem Senior Friendship Center. Trips are announced, advertised and promoted in the Senior Citizen’s monthly newsletter. Pick up the current newsletter today. Payment is required to reserve seating on all Orem Senior Friendship trips. Seating is on an as-available basis. Last year, the Orem seniors enjoyed 53 trips and tours — that’s almost one trip weekly! *Please note: There are NO REFUNDS, substitutions or exchanges on our trips.
All volunteers are welcome to come and help. Quilts are set up in the quilting room which is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM. If you would like to have a quilt top marked, tied, quilted, or bound, please call 801-229-7111 or come visit the quilters. Have your own quilt tied or hand-quilted here!

Billiards – (Free, no instruction). Daily 8 AM to 5 PM.
Wood Shop – The wood shop is open under the direction of one of our volunteers, David Haight, Stephen Barsh, Steven Tyler, Shane Peterson, Terri Peterson and Harold Whittle who have many years of experience in woodworking and are very excited to work with you. At the wood shop, you will be able to make anything from birdhouses to bookshelves. The wood shop is available, by appointment Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-11:45 AM. Call 801-229-7111 to schedule your time. If there are no patrons for more than 30 minutes the foreman can choose to close the shop for the day.
