YOUTH BASKETBALL (3-8 GRADES)

  • Grades: 3-8
  • Registration Date: Oct 14-Nov 9, 2013
  • Late Registration: Nov 25 - until teams are filled
  • Play Begins: Jan 11, 2014
  • Fee: $50 (3-6 grades); $55 (7-8 grades)
  • Non-Resident Fee: $60 (3-6 grades); $70 (7-8 grades)

Teams for 3-6 grades are formed by neighborhood areas. Jr. High players are drafted onto teams by schools. Draft times are listed below. Games will be played for 7 consecutive Saturdays at Jr. Highs & High Schools in Orem. The fee includes a team jersey, a ticket to a BYU basketball game, and seven league games. Junior High players will also participate in a city wide tournament. Volunteer coaches are needed for this program. Call 229-7455 for more information.

How Teams Are Formed

All 7-8 graders interested in playing youth basketball need to attend the draft dressed and ready to play. If you have not registered, please come at least 30 minutes early and get signed up. Everyone that signs up will be drafted on to a team. Please check below to see when the draft for you school will be held.

Canyon View--at Canyon View Jr. High on Thurs, Dec. 6th–6:15 PM
Lakeridge--at Orem Fitness Center on Sat, Dec. 1st–7:45 AM
Oak Canyon--at Orem Jr. High on Tues, Dec. 4th–7:15 PM
Orem Jr.--at Orem Jr. High on Tues, Dec. 4th–6:45 PM

YOUTH BASKETBALL (9-12 GRADES)

  • Grades: 9-12
  • Registration Date: Oct 14-Nov 30, 2013
  • Play Begins: Jan 11, 2014
  • Fee: $475 per team (up to eight players–additional players are $25 each)
  • Non-Resident Fee: $10 per player


Registration is accepted on a team basis only; the league is for 9-10 & 11-12 graders with a separate division for both boys and girls. (Girls play in a county league). The fee includes a team jersey, a ticket to a BYU basketball game, and seven league games followed by a double-elimination tournament. Games may be played on Monday-Friday evenings or Saturdays. Please be aware that there will be an important coach’s/manager’s meeting (for 9-12 grade teams) held on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 in the upstairs lobby of the Orem Fitness Center.  This meeting will start at 3:00 PM. Your team MUST be registered (this means fee paid) before this meeting (registration ends December 1). It is mandatory that there be a representative from your team present.   If nobody from your team can make it, please contact Debbie at 229-7455 to make further arrangements.

Please bring your completed roster and waivers to this meeting on Wednesday, January 2. Be aware that the waivers must be signed by the participant and the participant’s parent.  Jerseys will be given at the coach’s meeting (if all fees are paid) for the number of waivers that are turned in.

Games are scheduled to start Saturday, January 5, 2013 and will be played at various facilities on Monday-Friday evenings and Saturdays.

LITTLE HOOPSTERS BASKETBALL CAMP

Little Hoopsters camp is open to boys and girls ages 5-8. All classes will be held in the North gym at the Orem  Fitness Center. At camp children will be instructed in the basic skills and techniques of passing, dribbling, and shooting.  While skills and drills will be taught, team work, sportsmanship and fun will be emphasized.  The fee includes a camp T-shirt.   FOR THE SAFETY OF THOSE CHILDREN ENROLLED IN THE CAMP, PLEASE DO NOT BRING OTHER CHILDREN TO WATCH.  PARENTS ARE WELCOME TO WATCH.   Register early, camps fill fast and camp size is limited.
