Swim Team

Ages:  6-up AND at least level 4 swimming ability
Orem City Resident Pre-Registration:  Thurs, May 2, 4-6 pm in person at the Orem Fitness Center (proof of residency required for each participant)
Regular Registration begins:  Mon, May 6, 5 am - Deadline May 31
Preview Day:  May 18 (required for new participants), 9 am, at the OREM FITNESS CENTER
Practice Begins:  June 3
Fee:  $90

Participants can choose to sign up for swim team at either facility.  All meets will be held at Outdoor Pool with all 9 a.m. swimmers competing together as a team.  
Orem City residents will be given the opportunity to pre-register for this program on Thursday, May 2nd from 4-6 pm in the upstairs foyer of the Orem Fitness Center.  Proof of Orem City residency will be required for EVERY participant.  
The Orem Rec Swim team has been developed to introduce swimmers into a low pressure competitive environment.  While it will be a rigorous daily workout, kids will be motivated and encouraged in a positive fun environment.  Participants may register for one of three teams at their preference.  Teams will practice daily.  The Yellow team will practice from 9 am to 10 am.  The Blue team will practice from 10 am to 11 am.  The Red team will practice from 11 am to 12 pm.  There will be three coaches assigned to each hour.  All swimmers will be able to interact directly with the coaches.  Each team is the same, the only difference being the practice time.

In the case of inclement weather, practice will be cancelled with no make-up days.  Information on whether team will be held can be gained by calling the Scera Park Pools office at 724-3751 between 7-9 a.m. each day.   
Team T-shirts will be distributed during the second week of practice.  Shirt sizes should be chosen while registering for the program.  Sizes available:    Child:  S, M, L      Adult:  S, M, L

NEW SWIMMERS- May 18, 2013: 9 am, Orem Fitness Center.  Each year, the coaches hold a swim team preview day.  This preview is mandatory for all new swimmers and open for any returning members.  During the preview swimmers will: Meet the coaches, learn where to meet each day, learn the structure of a swim practice, learn what to expect from the coaches, learn what the coaches expect from them, and get excited for a great summer!
New swimmers will also be expected to do a short swim test at the end of the preview and should come dressed appropriately and prepared to get in and swim.
