Infrared Body Fat Test

The Orem Recreation Department uses the Futrex 5000 infrared machine to evaluate body composition. The infrared machine can accurately determine one’s body fat percentage with a simple procedure using infrared light. The infrared analysis machine sends a low energy beam of near-infrared light into the person’s prominent biceps. A wave length shift of the reflected beam accurately determines percent body fat in correlation with one’s age, height, body frame size and present fitness lifestyle habits. This test takes about two to three minutes to perform and requires no fasting or other related prerequisites. This analysis machine is very portable and can be taken to schools, businesses, and groups.
