Weight Training

The American College of Sports Medicine states: “Weight and strength training exercise programs have been overlooked for decades as a healthy and safe means of developing total body fitness. It has been noted that aerobic activity alone will not produce total body fitness. A combination of weight or strength training, diet, and cardiovascular conditioning are all needed to attain a proper well-balanced and healthy body.” Weight training uses moderate to heavy weights and is typically for those serious about developing strength and muscle mass. This program allows the body to function more efficiently with less stress and exertion. Strength training uses light to moderate weight to develop overall body strength and tone. This program typically uses lighter free weights and can be done very conveniently at home, work, or any weight lifting facility.
